Phil Berry
Head Golf Professional
Phil Berry, a PGA Associate, brings nearly a decade of coaching and instructional experience to Cowboy Country Club as Head Pro. His coaching career began in the Grand Strand Region of the Coastal Carolinas, where he served as an instructor for Project Golf - Myrtle Beach as well as an instructor at the golf academy at Barefoot Golf Resort in North Myrtle Beach.
Phil has instructed hundreds of students over his nearly ten years in the industry, with teaching experience spanning high-handicap beginners to scratch golfers competing at the collegiate level. He specializes in virtual instruction using OnForm, allowing him to deliver detailed, video-based swing analysis and coaching to students regardless of location.
Phil is also an NCAA coach and the founder of The Golf Refinery, a golf instruction company based in Central Pennsylvania, where he continues to serve as lead instructor alongside his role at Cowboy Country Club.
Russell Peachtree
Membership Director
Russell Peactree spent 14 years on the PGA Tour, picked up three Tour wins, cashed plenty of checks, and earned a reputation for playing fast, talking a little trash, and never turning down a game with money on the line.
These days, he runs the day-to-day at Cowboy Country Club. If something's broken, he'll probably fix it. If the greens are rolling too slow, you'll hear about it. If you're looking for him, he's either making the turn with a cold beer or holding court on the clubhouse porch.
Every Thursday, Russell sends out the Membership Memo—a no-BS rundown of what's happening around the club, the biggest stories in golf, upcoming tournaments, and the weekend's best betting picks. He claims his picks are "for entertainment purposes only," right before telling you to mortgage the ranch on a first-round leader.
His philosophy?
"Life's too short for slow golf, warm beer, and laying up."
